ONLY ESSENTIAL COOKIES. NO TRACKING.

DynoMiata sets two cookies. Both are required for the site to work. Nothing for advertising, behavioral profiling, or third-party analytics. The sections below cover what's set, what isn't, and how to control it from your browser.

01THE THIRTY-SECOND VERSION

FOUR THINGS, IN ORDER

  1. Two cookies, both essential. One is mine (Pro session). One is Cloudflare's (bot protection). Without them, the site can't keep you signed in or block automated abuse.
  2. Nothing for ads, marketing, or third-party analytics. No Google Analytics. No tracking pixels. No cross-site identifiers. No behavioral profiling.
  3. No banner because none is required. ePrivacy regulations exempt strictly-necessary cookies from consent. We set only those.
  4. You can block any of it. Browser controls are linked below. Blocking the Pro session cookie means you can't stay signed in, but the free tier still works.

02WHAT WE SET

The full list. Two entries. Both required for the service to function.

DM_SESSION Issued after a successful Pro magic-link unlock. Identifies your account so saved runs, vehicle profiles, and mod history load correctly. HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite=Strict, 30-day rolling expiry. Removed on logout. FIRST-PARTY
__CF_BM Cloudflare's bot-management cookie, set automatically by the edge to protect the site from automated abuse. We don't read or write it ourselves; it's managed entirely by Cloudflare under their own privacy terms. CLOUDFLARE

03WHAT WE DON'T SET

Explicit negative list. None of these are present anywhere on dynomiata.com.

×
Marketing cookies. No retargeting, no campaign attribution, no email-tracking pixels.
×
Advertising cookies. No Google Ads, no Meta pixel, no programmatic ad identifiers.
×
Third-party analytics. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Segment, no Amplitude, no Plausible-equivalent third party.
×
Tracking pixels & fingerprinting beacons. No 1x1 image trackers. No iframe trackers. No fingerprinting beacons. We do load GoatCounter for aggregate visit counts (no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiling); see the Privacy page for details.
×
Cross-site tracking.Nothing follows you from another site to dynomiata.com, or from dynomiata.com to another site.
×
Targeted advertising.DynoMiata doesn't run ads. There's nothing to target.

04LOCALSTORAGE

Technically not a cookie, but often confused for one. localStorage is a small key/value store in your browser. DynoMiata uses it for two things, both local to your device.

MOST RECENT RUN If you're on the free tier, your last OBD analysis is cached in localStorage so the page can re-render it without re-uploading. Ephemeral and never sent to our servers. Clearing browser data wipes it. FREE TIER
CACHED CONSTANTS Vehicle-data constants (NC/ND profiles, mod tables) are cached for faster page loads. Cleared automatically when the constants update on our end. ALL USERS

05NO BANNER REQUIRED

No giant cookie-consent banner blocks the site. Here's why that's actually compliant, not negligent.

THE LEGAL POSTURE

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, the UK PECR, and equivalent regulations elsewhere, consent banners are required only for non-essential cookies. Both dm_session and __cf_bm are strictly necessary for the service to function (sign-in and security). The exemption applies. No banner needed.

If we ever add a non-essential cookie (we don't plan to), the banner ships first. We use GoatCounter for aggregate visit counts; it does not set cookies. No ads. No cross-site tracking.

06CONTROLLING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER

You can accept or reject any cookie, including the essential ones. Note that rejecting dm_session means you can't stay signed in to Pro; the free tier still works without an account.
